Street photography also known as “Straight Photography,” is a type of documentary photography that features subjects in candid situations within public places such as streets, parks, beaches, malls, political conventions and other settings. More specifically street photography is “un-posed, un-staged photography which captures, explores or questions contemporary society and the relationships between individuals and their surroundings.” Street photography uses the techniques of straight photography in that it shows a pure vision of a scene.
“When you photograph people in color, you photograph their clothes. But when you photograph people in Black and white, you photograph their souls!”
